Article: A Brief History of Summer Vacation

Another summer vacation draws to a reluctant close.  Over the next few weeks, school will be starting again across the U.S..  We here at Casa de Mythspent trudge back to class next week.  And as much as I think education is a grand thing (and I do) I have to admit that I'm not looking forward to getting up at 6am again.

Urban students, meanwhile, regularly endured as many as 48 weeks of study a year, with one break per quarter."
